Child's Drawing Christmas Ornament - Frequently Asked Questions

Child's Drawing Christmas Ornament - Frequently Asked Questions

The holiday season is the perfect time to celebrate family traditions and create lasting memories. One such cherished tradition is decorating the Christmas tree with ornaments that hold sentimental value. Imagine adorning your tree with ornaments that showcase your child's creativity and artistic talents as well as creating a beautiful record of their development each year.

At Bandicute, we bring you the magic of personalised Children's Drawing Christmas Ornaments.

Shop our personalised children's drawing ornament here.

We've had so much interest in these beautiful decorations, and it's little wonder! We thought you might like to have a read through some of the questions we've been receiving in case you've been wondering about it yourself

1. How does it work?

The process is super easy! Simply place your order and you will receive an order confirmation email. Reply to the confirmation email with your photos attached.

Please get them to use black felt tip marker on a white background for their drawing (preferably unlined). The higher the contrast of the drawing, the easier it will be for us to create your ornament, and the better the result will be. See the photo above for reference.

If you have multiple children's drawings in your order, please name your images with the child's name so we can easily match their drawings to your order details.

2. I have a drawing already but I'm not sure if it's suitable?

If you have a drawing you love but you are wondering if it's suitable for us to use, please email it to us at hello@bandicute.com.au so we can assist you.

3. I'm having trouble getting my child to draw a picture

Try giving them a smaller piece of paper! When we did this with our kids, we found giving them an A4 piece of paper made it difficult for them to understand the brief - they would fill up the whole page and draw the whole scene rather than something compact that was suitable for an ornament. So we cut them a smaller piece of paper about 15 x 15cm for them to draw in and it worked a treat.

Please don't feel like you have to rush - you can place your order even if your drawing is not ready. We will check in with you if we don't hear from you after a week or so, to see how you're going with it and if there's anything we can do to help.

4. Can I get a bulk discount for multiple children?

We offer a bundle discount for multiples of the same ornament (drawing) only.

This is because the cost includes our time to convert your artwork to a digital file in addition to the cost of materials and making the ornament. This is the most time consuming part of the process, so if we were to discount the cost of a single ornament any further we would soon be out of business!

We are able to offer the discount on bundles of the same ornament because the process of converting your image into a file ready for engraving and cutting only occurs once. That is, once we have created your file, there is no extra time cost for the design process for more ornaments that are exactly the same.

We hope this makes sense and that you understand the reasoning behind this.

If you are a teacher or educator and would like to do this for your classroom we are happy to offer a small educator discount, please contact us for more information.

5. What is the turn around time for my order?

Our current turn around time is 2-3 weeks. Please keep an eye on the turn around times (which you'll see written on the product description underneath the add to cart button) as this will change coming into the busy Christmas period when we have a higher workload.

We strongly encourage you to order sooner rather than later to avoid the rush.

6. When will you be closing orders for these ornaments?

We don't have an exact date yet but it will be in November - this will depend entirely on the volume of orders we receive over the coming months and what we can manage. We will keep you informed by email and on our social media so please keep an eye out for announcements.

Again, please ensure you place your order as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

7. My child is too young to do a drawing

Have you considered doing a handprint instead? This was a popular option last year, so this year we have created a product all on its own for you to order through. Find it here.

To do this, use (non toxic) black paint - we find acrylic paint the best option as it's a little bit tacky so it won't slide too much. Paint your little one's hand and press it onto a piece of white paper, then take a photo and send it to us at hello@bandicute.com.au

Have you got a question we haven't answered here? You are always welcome to contact us so we can assist you.
